The Best Time to Visit Singapore

Singapore is one degree from the equator, which means it's warm, humid and green all year round. There's no bad month for a city break — but some are better than others for price, weather and festivals. Here's how to pick.

The short answer

Singapore doesn't have seasons, but it does have a wetter stretch and a drier stretch. The best time to visit Singapore for most people is February to April — the driest months, with lower humidity and clear skies for those Marina Bay rooftop moments. That said, the city is fully functional in any month, and the rain usually arrives as a short afternoon downpour.

Month by month

February – April: the sweet spot

The driest and sunniest months, and the most pleasant humidity of the year. February brings Chinese New Year (the city lights up), and these months are ideal for Gardens by the Bay and outdoor evenings.

May – August: warm and lively

Hotter and stickier, but the school holidays bring a festival energy — the Great Singapore Sale (June–July) and National Day (August) are highlights. Prices tick up with demand.

September – January: wetter but wonderful

The northeast monsoon brings heavier showers from November to January, but they're usually brief. This is also when the city dresses for Christmas and New Year, and hawker food and hotels are often cheaper. Rain rarely ruins a Singapore trip — the attractions are famously indoors.

Which month for you?

  • First-timers wanting the best weather — February to April.
  • Shoppers — June to July for the Great Singapore Sale.
  • Families in school holidays — any school break works; the city is fully geared up.
  • Budget hunters — the wetter shoulder months of September and January.

Quick questions, answered

Does it rain every day in Singapore?

Most days see a short shower, usually in the afternoon — it rarely lasts long, and the city is built for it with covered walkways and indoor attractions everywhere.

Is Singapore too hot for a city break?

It's warm and humid year-round, but the whole city is air-conditioned — hotels, malls, MRT, museums. You'll barely notice the heat indoors, and mornings and evenings outdoors are pleasant.

When's the cheapest time to go?
