Ten days in Malaysia gives you the perfect blend: a few days of city energy in Kuala Lumpur, then a week of island calm in Langkawi.
Days 1–3: Kuala Lumpur
Arrive in the capital and use the first day lightly — a walk through the Petronas Towers area and dinner on Jalan Alor's neon food street. Day two, tick off the icons: the Petronas skybridge (book ahead), Batu Caves and its rainbow steps, and the Islamic Arts Museum. Day three, explore the markets of Chinatown or a day trip to the Batu Caves' quieter corners.
Kuala Lumpur highlights
- The Petronas Towers skybridge
- Batu Caves and the rainbow steps
- Jalan Alor's food street at night
Days 4–9: Langkawi
Fly north to Langkawi and switch gears completely. Spend day four at the beach. Day five, ride the cable car to the sky bridge for island-wide views, then hit a waterfall. Day six belongs to the water — a mangrove river cruise with eagle-feeding, or island-hopping to Pulau Payar. Day seven, a sunset dinner cruise. Days eight and nine are yours: beaches, a spa, or absolutely nothing at all.
Langkawi highlights
- The cable car and sky bridge
- A mangrove river cruise with eagle-feeding
- A sunset dinner cruise
Day 10: depart
Fly back to KL for your connection home, tanned and reluctant.
Why this route works
Two bases in ten days is the right pace — city buzz followed by island calm, with a single short internal flight between them. It's the exact shape of our Langkawi & KL package, which includes the flights, hotels and the cable car from £1,725 per person.
Quick questions, answered
Should I add Penang?
If you have 12–14 days, absolutely — Penang's George Town adds a food-and-heritage stop that's genuinely worth it. Ten days is better spent on just KL and Langkawi.
How do I get from KL to Langkawi?
A one-hour internal flight — quick, cheap and included in our package.
Can you arrange the whole route?
